Deadman Wonderland
This Anime is so underrated!
I love it and it's now on my top 5 list. :3
Deadman Wonderland is a prison, more like a circus on the outside, entertaining the people around the once was Tokyo. Tokyo was demolished by the strange Red Hole that transformed some people into Deadmen, using the Branches of Sin (aka their blood) as weapons in a deadly deathmatch.
The main character is Ganta, a 14 year old boy, who after a massacre of his entire class gets falsely accused and put into the prison.
Story goes that Ganta battles others with the blood power, meeting new friends and discovering Shiro, his new best friend.
This Anime is so good and believe me if you enjoy ones like Death Note and Elfen Lied you will definitely enjoy this!

Deru kui wa utareru
The stake that sticks up gets hammered down. - Basically meaning if you stand out, you will be subject to criticism.
That phrase describes me. Now i haven't had much luck with my life, barely graduating high school, being the socially awkward penguin but from all this it makes me the person i am and i'm still happy.
Ever since i started to watch Anime i have dreamed of creating my own, problem was my drawing was mediocre and my writing.. well you can tell from this god awful blog >.<. I don't know maybe one day! I thought a blog was for thoughts anyway!!
I decided to count all the Anime episodes i had left to watch... lets just say there is at least enough for an entire year!
Moving on...
I probably won't be reviewing for a while as i've too many Animes to finish now! But i will update on the ones i'm watching.
New to my Anime library:
Deadman Wonderland
Paranoia Agent
Claymore
Oh and before i forget, subscribe to this blog gaddamnit! :3

Another
Had to finish this one today! After the first few episodes it really got good!
As i said before, part ghost - part horror story. Set in a small village junior high school in Japan. Koichi is a student who returns to the village after being in Tokyo most of his life. He meets a strange student called Misaki Mei and becomes friends with her.
After that things go downhill resulting in deaths of students within their class. They find out that the class is cursed.
I don't want to spoil the story too much. More here.
I have yet to read the novel it was based on or the OVA or the live action film.. oh well there's plenty of time for that!
I did enjoy this Anime very much as most released nowadays don't have a good story. Sometimes recommendations do pay off!
Vampire Knight (Season 1)
This i came across randomly searching for more manga to buy!
After reading the manga, which has some fantastic artwork i might add, i decided to watch the Anime.
Vampire Knight is based around a private boarding school, Cross Academy, of which vampires and humans can attend. Yuki Cross, adopted daughter of the headmaster and Zero Kiryu (also adopted) are part of the day class and two of the main characters.
Whereas the night class consists of all vampire students, including pure blood vampires.
The story is mostly romance, with partial action. Different from what i would normally watch and before you would even think, no it is nothing like Twilight *spits on ground*.
It can get a little too deep into Yukis thoughts sometimes which i admit can get rather boring but apart from that it's an interesting story. Basically it's Yukis thoughts between Zero and Kaname Kuran (the pure blood vampire in charge of the night class).
I will be reviewing season 2 shortly... when i finish it!
Some of the characters!
Note: Day class wear black uniforms and night class wear white. (yes, there are more students in the day class of course!)

Nan Kuru Nai Sah!
In Japanese it basically means Don't worry be happy! (Line taken from a favourite Anime Blood+)
Anime makes me happy, watching it talking about it, even persuading my brother to watch it! He sadly didn't care for it before. Now watching Highschool of the Dead and Death Note i think i have changed his whole opinion of it!
I thought i would talk about the upcoming Anime that i will be watching these next few weeks (in between watching all four Alien moveis :3).
Another
12 episodes long.
Part ghost story, part horror story.
This was released very recently.
So far so good!
Mushishi
The most non-violent Anime i have yet to come across because it just doesn't need it!
26 episodes long.
Focuses on Ginko the Mushi master and his travels.
One of my favourites so far!
Full Metal Alchemist
Been at this one since just after Christmas!
A whopping 51 episodes.
Edward & Alphonse Elric, both alchemists in their search for the philosophers stone.
Dying to know what happens in the end!

Highschool of the Dead
Being a huge zombie fan this one caught my eye immediately.
Highschool of the Dead is set in the present day 2010 Japan, beginning as the world is struck by a deadly pandemic that turns humans into zombies, euphemistically referred to by the main characters as "Them" .
The story follows a group of high school students, the high school's nurse, and a young girl as they fight their way to safety through the deadly streets of Japan during a worldwide catastrophic event known as the "Outbreak". As the cast tries to survive the zombie apocalypse, they must also face the additional threats of societal collapse, in the form of dangerous fellow survivors, and the possible decay of their own moral codes.
I enjoyed this Anime very much. It can go from creepy to pretty much scary and from funny to quite sad. Apart from it's reputation as 'a bit on the Hentai side' which it hardly is, 12 episodes later, like me you will be wishing that they had made more!

Death Note
As i said before Death Note was the first anime that i watched.
It sucked me in from episode 1!
The Death Note is a note book that when you write a persons name in they die. Ryuk, a shinigami (god of death/reaper) drops his note book in the human realm and its found but Light Yagami who later on uses it.
The human whose name is written in this notebook shall die. This notebook will not take effect unless the writer has the subject's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected. If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the person's name, it will happen. If the cause of death is not specified, the person will simply die of a heart attack. After writing the cause of death, the details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
The story continues as Light uses the notebook to kill off criminals thinking it will make him a god. The police catch on and send L, the best detective in the world, to stop the madness. Light, with the help of Ryuk, discover more and more ways to kill off people. I won't spoil it too much if you have yet to see this amazing Anime!
After seeing the Anime i did buy the mangas which are the same more or less story line but equally as good. Who wouldn't want to own them?!
Small note: I recommend not watching the live action films as they ruin the story line. Amusing but you cannot compare it to the Anime & Manga.
Manga: Same story slightly different ending... a bit better in fact than the Anime.
I love this Anime and will most likely watch it 100 more times :). It's a good Anime to start off with if your new to all this.

Gantz
This i happen to come across by accident and thankfully i did!
Gantz on my list ranks pretty high. It's a completely unique story and idea. Admittedly the 1st episode may put most people off but you must persevere!
Selected people when they die end up killing aliens for Gantz ( a giant sphere of a thing, nobody quite knows what! ). Kay Kurono and Masaru Kato, two high school students die in an unfortunate accident and are sent to Gantz for "processing" along with many other people.
The aliens are the most creepy things i have yet to come across in Anime. It's basically a game of survival. Until you reach 100 points you will have to keep on killing, harder and harder things.
More here.
Gantz is captivating and addictive. From what i've read so far of the Manga it could of been stretched a bit, plus the Manga is a bit different. Still good though!
They made two films for this Anime, never quite pulling it off.. Then again who can make an epic Anime into a real life action film??
Also, the music is creepy and just fits perfectly! Prepare for one hell of a ride! :)
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Anime film. Time travel.
This movie was excellent.
Makoto, who one day discovers a way to travel back in time. Using it at first as a way not to be late for school and to get the last pudding ( that her sister ate ).
"Time waits for no one."She later discovers that her pleasure adversely effects someone else. Ending up using these leaps recklessly making worse things happen even to her closest friends.
Well drawn, well animated. What else can i say but WATCH IT :).
More info here.
I haven't watched many Anime films before this but i'm glad i did.
I do recommend watching the Japanese version though.

Hellsing
Most people already know of the vampire Alucard, spelt the other way: Dracula.
Hellsing (in general, manga and both anime) has to be my favourite Anime of all. The story is just incredible and i just absolutely love Alucard.
Now the Hellsing I'm talking about isn't Ultimate... even though Ultimate is just as amazing, dare i say better. Both though are still brilliant!
Now for the story, Alucard works for the organisation Hellsing, in London, England. Hellsing are in charge of disposal of supernatural beings and demons (including vampires). Alucard himself works for Sir Integra Hellsing (the lady in charge and descendant of the one and only Abraham van Hellsing). One night Alucard comes across a police girl (Seras Victoria) and changes her into a vampire, thus making her work for Hellsing too.
Alucard and Seras battle ghouls, vampires and even a catholic priest (Alexander Anderson). He gets torn to pieces, decapitated, staked... everything you could imagine that would kill a vampire. But not Alucard.
I did watch this in English at first and after discovering Alucards voice i couldn't change it. Dark and scary. The voice acting in this is amazing. It's probably the only Anime that i would watch in English.
One thing that i always wanted after seeing this Anime was Alucards sunglasses. Even his whole costume is amazing. I cannot fault this Anime even a little!
Forget stakes through the heart, forget decapitation, forget sunlight... Alucard is the all-time bad-ass vampire that we needed. Just wait until you see his powers!
This post was edited because after a while my opinion of Ultimate changed a lot... 21/11/12

No. 6
This has to be one of the most amazing Animes out there.
Only 11 episodes long, No. 6 takes you to a futuristic world where there are only 6 major cities in existence. No. 6 is meant to be a heaven, a happy place to live although there is something not quite right. People disappear without a trace and there is a strange illness that ages and kills with no explanation.
Shion, a young yet brilliant boy of 12 runs into one of these missing people. He helps the young boy, called Rat, and gets blamed for it. Later loosing his scholarship and ending up working for the government at age 16. More here. (I don't want to spoil it too much ;) ).
This story is amazing. The ending is just perfect. You MUST watch this one, you won't regret it!

Blue Gender
This has to be one of my all-time favs.
Although 13 years old now, Blue Gender is completely unique. Haven't found many other reviews of this because i don't think many people know of it.
Yuji Kaido is an average young adult male diagnosed with a serious disease (the "B-cells") and is put into cryogenic stasis until a cure is found. Twenty-two years later, he is awakened in the midst of a raging battle between armoured soldiers and insectoid beings called the "Blue" which have overrun the Earth.
Incredibly creepy at times, Blue Genders music fits perfectly giving this Anime a horror atmosphere. You can really connect with all the characters.
Sad to say it is rather underrated :(. But i hope i can change that!
No matter what sort of Anime fan you are this is bound to keep you watching!

Elfen Lied
Diclonius, similar to human beings but different at the genetic level and notable due to physical abnormalities, particularly a pair of short horn-like protrusions.
Lucy, a vicious Diclonius, escapes from the facility. With countless people after her she hides out with two local students. After her escape she is weak and her personality changes to a child-like state known a Nyu. They send Diclonius and humans alike to recapture her resulting in more and more bloodshed.
Most captivating Anime, making you become attached to the characters. Yes, it even made me cry! I recommend this one highly.
Tokko
This Anime is rather different.. and underrated. This is my personal opinion anyway!
Tokko are a secret police force that are fighting demons that were summoned hundreds of years ago from the box of druge similar to the puzzle box of hellraiser. Ranmaru, the main character, part of the normal police force after recovering from an accident 5 years ago killing his parents runs into the demons again. More on the plot here.
I won't spoil the story too much for you. Although it is unique in a way Tokko deserved more background story into the beginning itself leaving out some main points, frustrating at times. Put simple this 13 episode Anime has been discarded for 8 years and could really do with continuing the story much further.
I should really get round to reading the Manga apparently the story goes on...
All-in-all this is definitely a watch able and enjoyable Anime!

In the beginning...
Konichiwa!
Let's just say that i got fed up with all these one-track minded anime fans, who would rather just stick to Naruto and One Piece rather than explore all the amazing Anime Japan has to offer.
After scouring the internet for more Anime to watch i kept coming across the same (more or less) top 10 Anime. So i decided to instead tell you all about the Anime i'm watching. Kind of like reviews really.
I just want everyone else to know about these little gems i've come across.
I started out as a young girl watching pokemon, like most kids in the 90's. I didn't rediscover Anime until recently, last year to be more precise. So the first one i watched was Death Note. Getting hooked immediately i ended up buying the whole collection on Manga that Christmas and for my birthday a few more including Full Metal Alchemist, Vampire Knight, Psyren (which should be made into an Anime imo) and of course Bleach & Naruto. After reading all of them in no time at all i decided to download all their Anime counter-parts and more.
Ok, i'm quite new to this world and yes i would really appreciate all your opinions but i would also like to share with you all of mine!
